Automated Ceiling Registers, LLC
(ACR) was founded in June of 2000 by Dale Ezell and Lynn Heitman, who
are both electrical engineers, and Bob Ezell, a home and apartment
builder. Dale and Lynn
worked together at Texas Instruments on a variety of electrical and
mechanical control systems and have extensive experience and expertise
in a wide range of engineering disciplines.
Both are inventors that hold key patents in the HVAC field and
other disciplines. Bob
Ezell, who passed away suddenly in July, 2001, had over thirty-five
years experience in developing residential subdivisions and building
individual homes and large apartment complexes in several states.
His wife, Janis, continues as a partner and advisor to the
company. A fourth partner,
John Smith, with an extensive background in computer-aided design and
manufacturing, joined the company in April of 2002.
From the beginning, ACR's goals
have included developing simple airflow control devices that were easy
to install and easy to operate. The
primary emphasis of all products has been to improve comfort and save
energy. The concept of
complimentary airflow control was developed and patented by the company
as a simple method of providing zoning without complication.
Modular phone jacks and cables are used on most of the products
to improve installation time and enhance reliability.
A proprietary patented airflow control valve was developed to
replace conventional metal blade registers and dampers.
This device provides quiet and efficient linear airflow control
over a wide range of flow rates. In
2003, ACR introduced a line of Air Quality Systems (AQS) to provide
fresh air ventilation in residential and light commercial applications.
These devices share the proprietary airflow control valve and include
airway sensors that monitor and control the temperature and humidity of
ventilation air. In 2006,
ACR introduced the Quick and Easy™
Register System, which eliminates the need for ceiling register boxes
and provides further reductions in installation time and labor in new
home construction. When used
collectively in home or light commercial applications, ACR products
provide significant energy savings, improve indoor air quality and
enhance temperature balance.
The MicroFlow2000™
and the Quick & Easy™
register products are offered with manual or automated (motorized)
control. The AQS products
are fully automated and provide the proper amount of outside ventilation
air in a controlled and energy efficient manner. All ACR airflow control
products are made of high quality ABS plastic, molded into aerodynamic
shapes, which provide superior airflow performance and unsurpassed
control. Unlike conventional metal airflow control devices, they do not
rust, rattle or collect dust. ACR
registers provide quiet, continuously variable airflow and are totally
sealed when closed. ACR
products allow occupants to continuously control the amount of airflow
on a room-by-room basis while maintaining proper indoor air quality
throughout the structure.
The
company's headquarters is located in Plano, Texas and it serves both
contractors and wholesalers throughout the world. |
